This week, our Reception class had lots of fun exploring repeating patterns using something delicious and healthy!
The children have been learning how to spot and create patterns using colours, shapes, and objects. To put their new skills into practice, they made their very own fruit patterns as part of our healthy eating topic. Using colourful pieces of fruit such as bananas, kiwi, apples, and strawberries, the children carefully arranged their snacks into repeating sequences.
The activity was a great blend of maths and wellbeing, helping the children develop their understanding of sequencing, observation, and fine motor skills while also learning about the importance of healthy eating.
The classroom was filled with excitement (and the lovely smell of fresh fruit!) as the children proudly showed their patterned creations before enjoying their tasty snacks. What a fun and fruity way to learn about maths and make healthy choices at the same time!
