Reception Create Rainforest Art Inspired by Joan Miró
Reception have been busy exploring the colourful artwork of the artist Joan Miró. The children looked closely at some of his paintings and talked about the bright primary colours, bold shapes and strong black lines he used in his work.
Inspired by Miró, the children created their own rainforest-themed artwork. First, they painted a soft watercolour background, thinking about the rich colours you might see in a rainforest.
Once their backgrounds were dry, the children added large, bold shapes to represent leaves, plants and rainforest creatures. They carefully painted these shapes using bright primary colours.
To finish their artwork, the children used bold black lines to outline and emphasise their shapes, just like Joan Miró. This helped their colourful designs really stand out.
Reception showed fantastic creativity and concentration while creating their artwork, and the finished pieces are bright, bold and full of imagination.
